Terms of service
The terms for professional use of Airside Works Manager and our public website.
Last updated: 18 September 2026
Provider, customer and agreement
Airside Works Manager (AWM) is provided by Maestranza B.V., a Netherlands company registered under KvK number 42113511 and VAT number NL869791205B01. Contact us at support@airsideworksmanager.com. “Customer” means the organisation or business purchasing or evaluating the service; “user” means a person it authorises to use AWM.
These service terms apply when incorporated into a written order, pilot agreement or other agreement accepted by Maestranza and the customer. A person accepting on behalf of an organisation must have authority to bind it. Merely reading the website, submitting an enquiry or accepting Microsoft’s sign-in permissions does not purchase a subscription or authorise someone to contract on behalf of an employer.
An agreed order identifies the customer, service scope, deployment, fees, subscription or pilot period and any renewal arrangements. For conflicts, mandatory law takes priority, followed by applicable transfer clauses and data-processing provisions for their subject matter, then expressly agreed variations in the signed agreement, then these terms. A privacy notice explains processing; it is not a substitute for a customer contract or a data-processing agreement.
Scope and delivery
AWM supports aerodrome data management and airside works planning, review, coordination and related outputs. Only the modules, data services, integrations and support expressly included in the order are contracted. Website examples, roadmaps and demonstrations are explanatory and do not commit either party to a future feature or a particular implementation date.
For a managed deployment, Maestranza operates the components assigned to it in the agreement. For mixed or customer-hosted delivery, the agreement must allocate infrastructure, identity, connectivity, upgrades, backups and support responsibilities. Customer-hosted software and GIS components remain subject to their applicable licences; third-party open-source licence rights are not restricted by these terms.
Accounts and authorised use
During the agreed service period, the customer may allow its authorised users to access the contracted service for its business purposes within the agreed scope. Access is subject to the configured organisation, role and airport permissions. It is not a right to resell the service or provide access to unrelated organisations without agreement.
The customer appoints administrators, verifies user identities and required permissions, informs users of applicable policies, and promptly removes access that is no longer needed. Users must protect credentials, follow applicable authentication requirements and report suspected compromise. Accounts must not be shared to avoid access controls or agreed licence restrictions.
Microsoft or the customer’s identity provider supplies authentication. Customer approval of an integration must be given by an administrator with the necessary authority. Revoking AWM access does not delete the user’s underlying identity-provider account, and deleting a guest directory entry does not automatically erase operational history.
Acceptable use
Use AWM lawfully, within your authorisation and with respect for other users’ information and operational safety.
- Do not access another customer’s data, bypass permissions, impersonate another user, falsify approval history or interfere with security controls.
- Do not upload malicious software, unlawful content or information you have no right to process or disclose.
- Do not disrupt the service through abusive traffic or use undocumented access to extract data outside your permissions. Agreed APIs, lawful data export and interoperability rights remain available.
- Coordinate security testing with us in advance so testing does not expose another customer’s data or interrupt an operational system. Report a suspected vulnerability privately to support@airsideworksmanager.com.
- Do not remove required rights notices. Restrictions on copying or reverse engineering do not override permissions granted by open-source licences or mandatory law.
Operational and aviation responsibilities
AWM is a planning and information tool. The customer remains responsible for the suitability, accuracy, completeness and currency of source data; its operational procedures; staff competence; and the approvals required by its airport, competent authority and applicable law. A software check, map depiction or generated document is not, by itself, regulatory approval, a survey certification or authority to conduct airside work.
Authorised people must review relevant inputs, assumptions, geometry, time references, restrictions, conflicts and outputs before operational use. An absence of a warning is not proof that an activity is safe or compliant. The customer must maintain appropriate independent procedures and continuity arrangements when the service or an external feed is unavailable.
Draft NOTAMs and other publication outputs require the applicable human review and authorised publication process. AWM does not confer the authority of an AIS provider, air traffic service, regulator or airport accountable manager. Weather, traffic and third-party map layers can be incomplete, delayed or unsuitable for a particular decision; they must not replace the approved sources and procedures required for that decision.
This allocation of operational responsibility does not excuse Maestranza from its contractual duties to provide the agreed service with reasonable skill and care or from liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Customer data and intellectual property
The customer and its licensors retain their rights in data, files and other material supplied to AWM. The customer is responsible for having the rights and lawful basis needed for that material, including imagery, third-party aeronautical datasets and personal data.
The customer authorises Maestranza to host, copy, transmit, transform and otherwise process that material only as needed to provide, secure, support and recover the contracted service, follow documented instructions and meet applicable law. This is not a transfer of ownership or permission to sell customer data, use it for behavioural advertising or train general-purpose AI models on customer workspace content.
Maestranza and its licensors retain their rights in AWM software, documentation and pre-existing methods. Ownership and permitted use of any separately commissioned dataset or deliverable must be specified in its order. The customer’s right to retrieve its own data is not dependent on receiving the source code or other customers’ information. Third-party content and standards retain their respective rights and licence conditions.
Privacy, confidentiality and support access
Each party must protect the other’s non-public information using reasonable care and use it only for the agreement. Disclosure is permitted to personnel, professional advisers and service providers who need it and are subject to appropriate confidentiality duties, or where law requires it. These duties do not cover information demonstrably public without breach, already lawfully known, independently developed or lawfully received without restriction. Where legally permitted, give notice before compelled disclosure and limit it to what is required.
Maestranza processes customer personal data under the applicable data-processing agreement. The customer provides lawful instructions and required notices to its users and other affected people. Necessary support may involve access to the affected workspace, logs or files, limited to the task and applicable authorisation. Users should avoid sending unnecessary personal data or credentials in support requests.
An organisation’s administrators and permitted users can see activity and records within their roles. The customer is responsible for its own lawful use of this information, including any employment-related monitoring; these terms do not grant an unrestricted right to monitor individuals.
Third-party services and integrations
Hosting, identity, database and other providers support the service. Some optional features use external data or transmit information to an external service. The service-provider page explains the identified connections. A customer-selected identity provider, recipient or integration can have separate terms and privacy responsibilities.
The customer must authorise optional transmissions and ensure that its data licences permit them. For example, sending an AIXM export to an external validator shares that export with the validator. Maestranza will not treat the mere existence of an integration as an instruction to send all customer content to it.
We remain responsible for our contracted obligations and our subprocessors as required by the data-processing agreement. We cannot guarantee the continued availability or accuracy of independently supplied external feeds. If a material dependency changes, we will discuss the effect and reasonable alternatives with the customer.
Support, maintenance and service changes
Support hours, incident response targets, availability commitments, recovery objectives and any service credits are those expressly agreed in the customer’s order or service-level agreement. The website does not create a guaranteed uptime percentage, recovery time or round-the-clock support commitment.
We may maintain and update the service, including to address security issues and legal requirements. We will give reasonable advance notice of planned changes likely to materially affect contracted use where practicable; urgent security work may require immediate action. We will not materially reduce the agreed core functionality during a paid term without an agreed remedy or a right required by law.
Backups and disaster recovery follow the allocation and schedule in the agreement. The customer must maintain the copies and continuity arrangements assigned to it. Maestranza remains responsible for the backup and recovery duties it has accepted.
Fees, duration and renewal
Fees, taxes, invoicing, payment dates, usage limits, renewal rules and price changes must be stated in the written agreement. No fee, automatic renewal or minimum commitment arises simply from creating a guest account or viewing a website price illustration. Additional work or optional paid services require agreement before they are charged.
Either party should raise a genuine billing dispute promptly and cooperate to resolve it. Undisputed amounts remain payable under the agreement. Any late-payment remedies or collection costs must comply with the agreement and applicable law; they do not create a right to withhold data or obstruct switching where law prohibits it.
Trials, demonstrations and pilots
A trial or pilot is limited to its agreed duration, users, data and purpose. Evaluation access is not approval for live operational reliance. Use real operational or personal data only where the pilot agreement permits it and the required access, security and data-processing arrangements are in place.
At the end of an evaluation, the parties either agree a continued service or arrange return and deletion of evaluation data. A pilot does not automatically convert into a paid subscription unless that conversion was expressly agreed. Any special limitations on evaluation functionality must be communicated in the pilot agreement.
Suspension and termination
We may restrict access to the extent reasonably necessary to address compromised accounts, unlawful use, a material security threat, a legal requirement or a material breach of the agreement. Where safe and practicable, we will explain the reason and allow an opportunity to remedy it before suspension. Urgent suspension should be proportionate, and access should be restored when its basis has been resolved.
Termination rights and notice periods are those in the agreement and mandatory law. A party asserting a remediable material breach must give written notice and a reasonable opportunity to remedy it, unless immediate termination is justified by law or the agreed circumstances. Expiry or termination ends the right to ongoing operational use, subject to agreed transition and retrieval access.
Confidentiality, accrued payment obligations, ownership provisions, dispute provisions and obligations to protect, return or erase retained data continue for as long as their purpose requires. Suspension or termination must not defeat statutory rights to data retrieval or switching.
Export, switching and deletion
The customer may request retrieval of its data, transition to another provider or its own infrastructure, or deletion by contacting support@airsideworksmanager.com. We will verify the requester’s authority and agree secure delivery and the relevant scope. The available data categories, formats and implementation limits are described on the service-provider and data-export page. An AIXM file alone is not an export of all workspace records.
Where the EU Data Act’s switching rules apply, the notice period to start switching will not exceed two months. The normal transition is no more than 30 calendar days after that period. We will provide reasonable assistance, maintain the contracted service with due care during transition, identify known continuity risks and protect the transferred data. The customer may extend the transition once for a period appropriate to its purposes. If the normal transition is technically unfeasible, we will explain and justify an alternative within 14 working days of the request; it will not exceed seven months.
For those services, the contract ends on successful completion of switching, or at the end of the applicable notice period where the customer chooses erasure instead, and we will confirm termination. A retrieval period of at least 30 calendar days follows the transition. After successful switching and expiry of that period, or a later agreed period, we will erase the exportable customer data and digital assets, subject to specific legal retention duties. Protected backup copies follow the agreed deletion schedule and cannot be kept indefinitely as a substitute for erasure.
Any switching charge before 12 January 2027 must be disclosed before contracting and must not exceed directly attributable switching costs. From that date no switching charge will be imposed where the Data Act prohibits it. Ordinary service fees and any lawful, previously agreed early-termination charge are separate and must not obstruct mandatory switching rights. More protective agreed terms and mandatory rights prevail.
Responsibility and liability
Each party is responsible for performing its obligations under the agreement with reasonable care and for losses for which it is liable under applicable law. A party discovering a problem must notify the other promptly and take reasonable steps to prevent avoidable loss.
Any agreed financial cap, exclusion of particular losses, indemnity or service-credit remedy applies only as expressly set out in the customer’s written agreement and to the extent legally permitted. In the absence of such an agreed provision, applicable law governs; this website does not silently impose a new financial cap or a broad customer indemnity.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, removes individuals’ data-protection rights, or overrides mandatory rules concerning intentional misconduct, gross negligence or unfair contractual terms. A supplier incident or cyberattack does not automatically excuse either party: any relief depends on the agreement, the circumstances and applicable law.
Website materials and feedback
The public website provides general information. We take reasonable care with it, but descriptions and examples do not replace a signed specification or advice for a particular airport. You may link to the website and use materials as permitted by law or their stated licence; other copying or commercial reuse requires the relevant rights holder’s permission.
You may provide feedback voluntarily. We may use suggestions to improve AWM, but this does not authorise disclosure of confidential customer information or reuse of personal data beyond the privacy notice and applicable agreement. We will not use a customer’s name or logo as an endorsement without permission.
Changes, notices and disputes
A revision posted on this page does not automatically replace the version incorporated into an existing agreement. Material contractual changes require the process and notice agreed with the customer or a further agreement. Keep a copy of the version accepted with your order.
Service and legal notices may be sent to the designated contacts in the agreement. Send notices for Maestranza to support@airsideworksmanager.com, identifying the customer and agreement, unless another notice address has been agreed. The parties will first try in good faith to resolve a dispute through their designated contacts.
Unless the signed agreement provides otherwise, Dutch law governs the agreement and the competent courts of Amsterdam hear contractual disputes, subject to mandatory jurisdiction rules. This does not restrict an individual’s right to complain to a supervisory authority or exercise a statutory remedy. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining agreement continues to the extent it can operate lawfully.
